Tell Us About Your First Deal in Real Estate

My first real estate transaction took place in June 2019, and it was a memorable start to my career. The property was a Fannie Mae foreclosure listed on HomePath.com — a 989 square foot condo in Hialeah featuring 1 bedroom and 1.5 bathrooms. It sold for $138,000 in a smooth, all-cash deal that closed in just 20 days. The buyer was an experienced investor purchasing the unit for his mother-in-law. He was extremely knowledgeable, quick to act, and had all his finances in order. He submitted all the required documents to the building’s association promptly, which made the approval process seamless. It was a straightforward transaction, and working with such a responsive and well-prepared investor made it a great experience. This is the type of client every agent hopes to work with.

Which book would you recommend to your rookie self?

The Honest Real Estate Agent: A Training Guide for a Successful First Year and Beyond as a Real Estate Agent (picture attached). This book is for brand new Agents and experienced Agents looking to jump start their business. It's not a book for everyone. The book is for Honest Real Estate Agents who care about their customers, work hard and want to make a difference in helping other people. One of the drawbacks of most real estate schools is they teach you only how to pass the real estate exam. They don't teach you how to succeed as a Real Estate Agent once you get your license. This is the book for you because it will help you hit the ground running once you get your license. In the past five years thousands of new Agents have bought this book as they embark on their career in real estate.

What inspired you to get into real estate?

What drew me to real estate was a mix of passion for sales, a genuine desire to help people, and a strong interest in properties and remodeling. I’ve always enjoyed the selling process — the strategy, the negotiation, the satisfaction of closing a deal that truly benefits someone.

What did you do with your first commission check?

With my first commission check, I kept things practical — I used it to pay off some personal debt and reinvested part of it back into my real estate business. Whether it was marketing, tools, or continuing education, I wanted to make sure I was setting a strong foundation for long-term success.

What is your favorite spot in Florida?

There’s nothing like the soft white sand of Siesta Key Beach. It’s my go-to spot to relax, reset, and appreciate the beauty of Florida living.

What do you enjoy most about being part of RESF?

What I enjoy most about being part of RESF is the culture of innovation, collaboration, and support. It’s a company that truly embraces technology, creative marketing, and forward-thinking strategies — all while maintaining a strong sense of community among agents. The leadership is accessible, the training is real-world effective, and the brand itself has a fresh, modern energy that aligns with how I like to do business. Being surrounded by driven professionals who are also generous with their knowledge has made all the difference in my growth and success.
